In Roadtrippers influencers take viewers across the globe while they compete in teams to cover as many miles as possible with limited budget and no transport.
For many years now we have been working with StukTV. A successful Dutch YouTube channel created by Giel de Winter, Thomas van der Vlugt and Stefan Jurriëns. The result? We traveled across the globe, created over more than five epic YouTube shows, such as 'De Kluis' en 'Puberende Bejaarden', together and received millions of views, comments and likes.
Roadtrippers is one of these formats as well. The travel series represents a profound seven-year collaboration between Mentos Gum, StukTV and Towel. In eight episodes, two teams cover as many miles as possible from the starting point as the crow flies, all with a limited emergency budget and a few cameras to capture their journey.
Roadtrippers has been reaching an average of one million viewers per episode for years.
The campaign objective of this season was to create awareness for the Mentos mini jars, within the younger target audience. StukTV competed against rapper Bizzey, YouTuber Rijk Hofman and presenter Iris Enthoven. Due to Covid-19 we had to adjust the format. Normally Roadtrippers is about hitchhiking to cover as many kilometers as possible, but both teams had a custom TukTuk at their disposal.
To increase both authenticity and the feeling of being on the road experiencing adventures with friends, our motion graphics team focused on amongst other things on creating imperfect maps showing folds and cracks.
